Youth Theatre Winterim
SMYT Winterim 2025: Broadway Bound is an after-school theatre program designed for students aged 8-18, from those who have no prior experience to those who want to hone their existing skills. Student actors will audition for roles and learn a medley of songs and excerpts from some of Broadway's greatest shows. All sessions take place in PAC unless noted.
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED and limited to 50 participants.

Monday, January 13
NEW OPTIONAL AUDITION WORKSHOP
5:00-7:00pm
Included in your SMYT Winterim Broadway Bound registration, this workshop is for any student who wants to brush up on their audition skills. During the 2-hour workshop, students will learn how to prepare for an audition, what to wear, how to introduce yourself, the do's and don’ts of a cold reading, how to be confident, what to do when you make a mistake, and how to handle not getting the role you hoped for.

No tickets needed for the mini performance. All are welcome. General admission seating. Run time is approximately 30 minutes.
General Guidelines for all participants
Use door 9 for drop off and pick up. This is the main entrance from the large parking lot on the NW corner of campus. It will be open 15 minutes prior to rehearsal start time. Do not drop students off more than 15 minutes before their rehearsal time. Please pick up students promptly. Parents/guardians may sit in the PAC lobby during rehearsals, but we ask that you do not sit inside the theatre. Students should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Temperature can fluctuate in the theatre, so bring a sweater/light jacket. Costumes are not required for the mini performance on Friday. However, students should wear solid-colored clothing. Students should stay home if they have cold or flu-like symptoms, tested positive for COVID-19 or think they may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.

Scholarship Information
At South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center, we provide scholarship opportunities for students who because of financial limitations are unable to participate in our performing arts programs. SMPAC's scholarship opportunities come in the form of full and partial scholarships to our Summer Youth Theatre program. A limited amount of scholarships are available each year to those who meet the requirements. All information is confidential and brought before a SMPAC committee.
