An important part of South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center’s mission is to provide life-long learning opportunities. We do this in a variety of ways, including:

Student master classes, workshops and unique opportunities to perform onstage with selected professional performing arts series artists;

Student matinees and programs for elementary school students, REAL Academy students and other departments such as social studies and guidance, to provide meaningful theatre experiences for students who might not otherwise have opportunities to participate in the arts;

Theatre lighting, sound and set design, combined with technical training for students, in support of the music and theatre department musicals, plays, concerts and other events;

Student career development through internships and co-op programs in our box office and with theatre administration and marketing communications projects;

A Summer Youth Theatre program for children 6-18 years old, creating a safe, respectful and collaborative environment for students to learn the values and life skills of teamwork, confidence, honesty, kindness, perseverance and responsibility through the production of high-quality performances.

Occasional workshops and outreach programs for adults and seniors featuring selected performing arts series artists.
